Why Nag refused to play President ? !!

Nagarjuna who is showing keen interest in portraying versatile characters off late turned down the offer to reprise the role of former Indian President Fakruddin Ali Ahmed (1974-1977) on silver screen. This Rs 80 crore Hindi-English bi-lingual is a biopic of late Sanjay Gandhi (Younger son of former PM Indira Gandhi, played big role during Emergency, several controversies, died in plane crash at a young age).

Director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan (Lahore fame) has Nag in his mind for the role when he wrote the script and so he narrated the story to the star recently. However, the actor refused it outright as he doesn't want to be part of a controversial film.

This film will show Sanjay Gandhi in a positive light as a visionary leader and explains the controversies surrounding him. Even Menaka Gandhi (W/O Sanjay Gandhi) has given her nod for the project. Most of the cast and crew was finalized, except the ones who should be playing Sanjay Gandhi and president Ahmed. Warner Brothers is producing this film which will go to the floors in 2013.
