'Mr Pellikoduku' Joins Mahesh's Side !!

Somehow, plans chalked by our hero turned comedian, six pack Sunil, are not working as per his planning. But still, he is aiming only top slots and getting ready to lock horns with biggies.

Sunil is all set to finish his work on upcoming 'Tanu Weds Manu' remake, and this time he wants to join Sankranthi race. Titled as 'Mr Pellikoduku', this film joins the list of class team of 2013 that will hit marquee in January 2013, headed by Mahesh-Venky's 'Seethamma Vaakitlo'. On the flip side, Charan heads mass-team with his 'Naayak' followed by Prabhas 'Mirchi'. We have to see how Sunil will meet the expectations of Tollywood audiences and how this film lays perfect path for his career.

Interesting aspect of Sunil's movie is the music scored by S A Rajkumar who happens to be the melody king of 90s Telugu flicks.

Tupaki Movie Review !!

Movie : Tupaki
Rating: 3/5
Cast : Vijay, Kajal, Vidyut and others
Directed by : Murugadoss
Produced by : Sobha
Banner : Gemini Film Circuit
Music : Harris Jairaj
Release Date : 2012-11-14

Ghajini fame Murugadoss's latest Tamil film Thuppakki has been dubbed in to Telugu as Tupaki. Tamil star hero Vijay played the lead role and Kajal is the female lead. This film caught the attention of Telugu audiences due to brand name of Murugadoss.

What is it about?

Jagadeesh (Vijay) is a determined army officer who gets to know about a serial blasts operation in Mumbai. He will stop that from happening and the main head of the terrorist group (Vidyut) comes after him. In the middle of this action, there is a romantic track for Jagadeesh with Nisha (Kajal).

Performances:

Vijay has done a neat job as the lead man. Despite having no image in Andhra Pradesh, people would love to see him as the lead. His sweet yet powerful performance is the reason for it. Kajal is alright as the female lead. There is nothing to rave about her. Vidyut is competent. All others are apt in their respective roles.

On the Technical Front:

Cinematography by Santosh Sivan stands out in this slick action flick. Editing is fine. The film is on the lengthier side though! Music by Harris Jairaj is a downer. Films like these don't require songs and when the music director is asked for few, he has to make sure that all the songs are worthy enough. Sadly none of the songs are pleasant. Thankfully Harris's background score is good.

Director Murugadoss has a knack of making a commercial movie with an unusual setup. He got it wrong for his previous film 7th Sense. He is good this time, but not as good as he was in Ghajini. That film was a right mix of action and romance. This time the blending is not good enough. Nevertheless, action part is so good that it almost covers up the faults. Murugadoss made a film that will increase his brand value.

Analysis:

Tupaki is a finely made action film with good amount of thrills. The film runs at a good pace despite the length. First half is very good with a wonderful pre interval episode. Second half also has some edge of the seat stuff. Director is visible throughout the action part.

Murugadoss should have cut the heroine's track short and it might have been good if a couple of songs were removed. However, the director's intention is to entertain the audiences amidst slick action. Comedy worked out in parts. Tupaki has some very nice moments that will impress Telugu audiences.

Vijay is yet to score a hit in Telugu and this time he has every chance to register his first success. Good music and impressive climax could have made this a better film. Last few minutes are let down as audiences expect far more better finale after all those mind games between the protagonist and antagonist. In spite of flaws, Tupaki is a decent watch.

Verdict: Worth a watch for Action lovers.

Mahesh Vs Charan In Telugu & Tamil !!

Superstar Mahesh Babu and Mega Powerstar Ramacharan have proved their mettle in 2012 like never before. After scoring stupendous hits, these heroes are locking horns with each other in two tinsel towns.

Apparently, Mahesh's multi-starrer movie 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' and Ramcharan's mass-action entertainer 'Naayak' are aiming at Sankranthi slot for 2013. These two heroes are also competing with each other in tamil circuit with their dubbed movies.

Charan's flopbuster 'Orange' is getting dubbed as 'Hai Ramcharan', while Mahesh's smashing hit 'Dookudu' is getting released as 'Adiradi Vettai'. While commercial results of these movies are different in Tollywood, in Tamil-land the result might be different. Because Ramcharan is already having seniority there after his 'Magadheera' scored well, Mahesh is yet to fascinate Tamil audiences.

BUS STOP Movie Review !!

Movie : BUS STOP
Rating: 3/5
Cast : Prince, Sri Divya and others
Directed by : Maruthi
Produced by : Bellamkonda Suresh
Banner : Sri lakshmi Narasimha Productions
Music : JB
Release Date : 2012-11-11

Ee Rojullo has set a new trend in Tollywood, which has encouraged many small filmmakers to go after doing youthful films with contemporary situations. Maruti, the director of Ee Rojullo is back with yet another film that falls in this category. This time he had a better financial support and better equipment. So, naturally the output is far more qualitative and impressive. But what about the content?

What is it about?

Srinu and Sailu (Prince and Sri Divya) are childhood friends who madly fall in love with each other. However, their parents don't agree to their love. As a result they get separated from parents and how and when they know the value of parents is the crux of this story. There are many more sub plots and parallel tracks to this story.

Performances:

Prince is Okay as the urban college going youth. He has improved a lot from his first outing Neeku Naaku Dash Dash. He could do better. Sri Divya is alright as the female lead. She doesn't have features of a heroine, but she do looks good in saris. On the performance front she is dead weak.

Rao Ramesh played a character which is like main pillar to this film. He is fine. His sudden variations in expressions and dialog modulation are a treat. Sai of Ee Rojullo fame has done fantabulous job. Although there is so much sleaze in his track, his immaculate timing will make you fall in love with him. He is surely a talent to watch out for. Rest of the star cast are average at best.

On the Technical Front:

Dialogues written by Maruti are hilarious at times despite double entendre. There are few sharp, hard hitting dialogs towards the end. Nice job overall. Editing and Cinematography are alright and the music is more than enough. JB's work stands out in this small film. Quality of the film is neat.

Director Maruti has mastered current youthful feelings and reactions. He has done enough study to make movies that represent today's youth. He has come a long way as a director from his first outing. He has improved a lot in various departments.

Analysis:

If you have liked Ee Rojullo, chances are high for you to end up liking this flick. Director Maruti has chosen a different premise for this film, but he made sure that soul of Ee Rojullo remains intact. Saying so the situations and characters are entirely different, thus making it a decent watch.

First half of the film breezes off even before you notice. There is a good interval bang and later the graph dips a bit. However director lifted it by putting a lengthy entertaining scene to grab the attention back. Climax is emotional and is shot well.

Director has heavily banked upon vulgarity and sleaze. That is the biggest drawback of this film. So Bus Stop will be restricted for youngsters. Director could have made this a wholesome entertainer by reducing adult stuff in many scenes. Despite the setbacks, this film will surely mint money at the box office due to its content and comedy.

Verdict: Adult comedy that strikes right chords with target audiences.

Pawan Is The Cause For Samantha's Exit ? !!

For some 'super creative' reasons, ravishingly hot Samantha is finally out of Ramcharan's 'Yevadu'. Industry insiders have finally managed to get some titbits, which are saying that Pawan is the reason for exit.

Samantha herself notified the other day that 'Yevadu' team wanted to replace her for creative reasons but not for dates problem. Sources are saying that as Sam signed Trivikram's movie opposite Pawan Kalyan, this problem raised. Both 'Yevadu' and Pawan-Trivikram movie will be hitting screens around same time and the makers felt that same girl beside Abbai and Baabai will obviously look awkward. For that reason, makers don't want to disturb Pawan's flick and hence pushed Samantha out of their own movie. Insiders from Dil Raju camp have neither denied nor supported this rumour.

Surprisingly Shruti Hasan is also the girl who scored a hit with 'Baabai' and how can Charan take her in as replacement if he has that sentiment, asks a Cine Observer.
