Rarely does a person like Akkineni Nagarjuna who is known to be happy-go-lucky guy loses his temper and that too in the presence of media. This incident took place during the press meet held at Annapurna Studio to announce the release date of Damarukam.
When a journo pointed out big ticket films like Damarukam have been facing financial problems due to the fact that 'producer turning into a cashier', Nag replied,"Anukunnavani Jaragavu Anni, Anukoledani Aagavu Konni! Damarukam is a best example for this quote. I have no clue about the problems of this project till the very last minute, or else I wouldn't have announced the release date on October 10. But, I'm not blaming anyone for all the unfortunate things happened in the last one month. None one including the artists, technicians and producer worked for Damarukam to make money, all they want is to make it a great film. 'producer-cashier' talk isn't applicable for this film".
"On Annapurna Studios banner, I'm making films and I'm a producer too. 'Nannu Cashier Ante, Laage Tantha'. So, very simple. I don't like my producer becoming a cashier. Producer is the father of the film and everything has to be done as per his wish," he added.
Just like the two sides of a coin, It's never easy for individuals who were in trouble to face the reality and sometimes the media too wants to sensationalize every issue.
